How Not to Do it
The BBC aired this clip in September 2011 as an example of work by Jordan Shelley, an unqualified and inexperienced wannabe dog trainer.
The subsequent uproar from the professional dog training and behaviourist community caused the BBC to withdraw the series, apologise for it's mistake and generally hide behind the sofa.
Unfortunately this kind of TV quick fix training is popular with the general public. Please don't follow this (or any other TV Quick Fix Hero).
This little JRT was not trained, it was traumatised.
However - one good thing came out of it. Someone (sorry can't remember who) is quoted as saying something similar to -
"well done BBC, you have managed to unite the entire dog training and behaviour world, a community that normally can't agree
on the colour of an orange"
