Pictures from the Puppy Class Training Session on October 11th

We had soooo many dogs attend this training day with Lauren and Matt that it was just a whirl of activity.

A total of 35 dogs took part in one of the four sessions, and this time it only rained on one group -
had to be the one me and Bob-Bob were in of course!!

One of the really interesting trends at the moment is the number of gundog breeds that are joining us.
Just look at this lot in the puppy class - 8 dogs, of which 6 were gundog breeds, 1 Jack Russell and 1 - yes ONE -Collie!

puppy session  2 Cockers, a Springer, a Field Spaniel, a Clumber and a Munsterlander!!

The 7 dogs in the Beginners Handling Session had beautiful weather. Concentrating on finding the line, forward value

and lots of interactive play, the handlers soon discovered how energetic agility can be!

The next group was not as lucky with the weather - a heavy storm, high winds and driving sleet did not stop the class,
but it did stop the camera!!!

After a very wet session on startline set ups and independence, during which Bob Bob, Digby, Abby and Meg kept working
despite the hailstones, we stopped for lunch and a change of clothing. Luckily we have plenty of shelter in the stables and
with the aid of hot soup, hot chocolate and Anne's legendary jam sponge, we soon recovered.

After lunch we were treated to a special session by Matt on smarter handling - thinking about the fastest and most effective
way through a course, applying the guidelines of our handling system to different set ups.

With only 4 of us in this group, as 2 dogs were unable to come at the last minute, we were given several challenges.
Lauren and her youngster Reef took part -  that dog can really motor !!

We ended the day in the dry, and even managed to pack up before the heavens opened yet again.

Another super day with Lauren and Matt - more to come in the summer - watch this space.
